The Secret life of our Pets - Netflix / ITV

The Secret Life of Our Pets is a series examining the select group of animals that have evolved to be human’s closest companions.

Ben wrote all the music for this 4 part series which was shown in early 2022 and is released on Netflix in the USA, UK to follow.

Voiced over by Hugh Bonneville, the series investigates amazing facts and feats of pets around the world; base jumping dogs, fish that play football etc.

This was commissioned by Oxford Scientific films who Ben has worked with before on “A Very British Country House” and “Richard E. Grant’s History of Safari”

Planet Child

Ben wrote all the music for this major ITV series. “Planet Child” explores what it’s like to be a child growing up in the 21st century in Japan America and Africa, with emphasis on the vastly different freedoms, risks and responsibilities that children from different cultures experience. Presented by the van Tulleken doctors and twin brothers, the show features social experiments with children trying their hand at challenges outside their normal scope and permission.

Beauty and The Bleach - BBC2

Tan France sets out to unearth the truth about colourism, where you are judged not only on the colour of your skin but by the shade of it, and its impact on people worldwide. Ben wrote the pre titles music, featured in this clip and several other pieces for this documentary.

Grand Designs - Channel 4

Ben wrote all the music for this special series of Grand Designs. Kevin McCloud follows 10 households as they embark on an epic five-year mission to construct their own homes in Britain’s biggest self-build project.

Bear Grylls' Wild Weekends with Stephen Fry

Ben wrote all the music for this episode of Bear Grylls’ series which aired on Christmas Day in 2013.

Tea with The Reaper

Ben wrote the music for this comedy/horror short film by Bright Night Films. An amateur ghost hunter opens a portal to the other side to welcome back his little girl, but when the dead wreak havoc in the village – the Reaper comes knocking. Trailer clip here. Demon Eye - Quickfoot Films

Ben composed the music for this feature length horror film, available on Amazon Prime Video. This is a low budget horror filmed in and around Huddersfield. Here is a clip from the introduction.

Library Music

Ben has written and produced many tracks for music libraries, most of it is hosted at Beaconmusic.tv . Use this link to access his works there

These are used everyday all over the world on all sorts of channels and shows, for example, one of these library tracks was featured on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, this clip is from season 11 Episode 4. Another one was used on the trailer for a film called “A family Man”.

The Swing of It

Ben composed the score for this naughty and very funny short film.
When a middle-aged couple decides to attend the local swingers’ party, hoping to save their frozen marriage, they are disappointed to discover that they are the only attendees. Worse yet, the hosts are a couple of stuck-up liberals who have opposed their planning permission. What follows is a night of brutal honesty and small-town politics. Link to full film here
